Spring Sprint: 9 Weeks, 9 Projects, 120 Videos — A SkipperFilms Recap
Posted by SkipperFilms | Leesburg, VA
We just caught our breath long enough to reflect on the past nine weeks of non-stop production, and wow—what a ride it's been. From local shoots here in Virginia and Maryland to sunshine-drenched productions in Florida and Indiana, the SkipperFilms team has been running full throttle. Altogether, we created close to 120 videos across nine incredible projects. Here's a quick recap of what we've been up to:
This annual 3-day conference in the heart of D.C. is a familiar favorite. We've been filming this event for years, and the trust and rhythm we’ve built with the client makes production seamless. It’s a prime example of how long-term client relationships turn into well-oiled machines—minimal direction, maximum results. These are the kinds of gigs we live for.
One of our biggest productions of the year, this week-long conference is a beast—in the best way. On-site edits, expo hall coverage, speaker interviews, attendee reactions, timelapses—you name it, we filmed it. Our “studio” was a coat closet in the conference center (seriously), and our fuel was gallons of free hotel coffee. We've done this one since 2018, and it somehow gets smoother and crazier every year.
This local after-school care program called us back for a brand refresh—eight years after we made their original video (which they’ve used ever since!). We spent two production days capturing joyful, energetic footage that shows off why parents trust them. It was great to see old friends and new faces. See you again in 2032?
Thanks to our ongoing partnership with Landscape Leadership, we hit the road to Florida for another landscaping shoot—this time with the talented team at LandCrafters. Gorgeous residential properties, beachside lunches, and three days of playing “Where’s Waldo” with landscaping crews made for a productive and slightly sandy adventure.
No rest for the creative—we rolled straight from Tampa to the Salamander Resort for a quick-turn promotional video. We’ve collaborated with them annually for the past five years, and these shoots always feel like a blend of luxury and familiarity. This was a one-day sprint with beautiful results.
Talk about a marathon. Over three days, we covered nineteen shopping centers across northern Virginia and Maryland. That meant filming inside dozens of stores, capturing the vibrancy of each space, and getting our daily steps in (and then some). Rappaport is one of our most active clients, and their projects always keep us on our toes.
Back to Florida! This was our second year covering bSwift’s conference, and the good vibes were through the roof. We captured everything from keynote moments to candid attendee interviews, and even delivered a highlight video on-site for the closing session. Great people, energized attendees, and sunny skies—what more could we ask for?
Another landscaping shoot, this time in Indiana. It’s our second year filming with Shades of Green, and the familiarity really allowed us to dive deeper into their brand personality. The result? More creative freedom, more fun content, and a final product that felt authentically “them.”
We might as well be the unofficial official video crew for the Town of Haymarket. This time around, we’re kicking off a new ongoing series featuring their newly elected mayor as she visits local shops and shines a spotlight on the town’s vibrant small business community. It’s wholesome, it’s fun, and it’s exactly the kind of hometown story we love telling.
So yeah... that was spring. A whirlwind of travel, editing, client collaboration, and caffeine—but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We're incredibly thankful for the clients who continue to trust us with their brands, their events, and their stories.
Now that the travel has (temporarily) slowed down, we’re recharging our batteries here in Leesburg and gearing up for the next wave of local content.
